Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh

Galvanized welded wire mesh is a very common and widely used metal mesh material. It is made by welding high-quality low-carbon steel wire (iron wire) into a mesh, and then coating its surface with a layer of zinc through a galvanizing process, which greatly improves its rust and corrosion resistance.

Galvanized welded wire mesh is primarily made by welding high-quality low-carbon steel wires into a mesh using precision automated machinery, followed by a galvanizing process.

Galvanizing is commonly performed using two methods: hot-dip galvanizing and electrogalvanizing.

●Hot-dip galvanizing: The welded wire mesh is immersed in molten zinc, forming a uniform, thick zinc layer on the surface. This method creates a zinc layer with strong adhesion and a thickness typically exceeding tens of microns, providing longer-lasting corrosion protection.

●Electrogalvanizing: An electrolytic process deposits a layer of zinc on the surface of the welded wire mesh. The electrogalvanized zinc layer is relatively thin, typically ranging from a few to more than ten microns, but offers a smoother, more uniform surface and a relatively low cost.

●Corrosion Resistance: The galvanized layer effectively isolates the wire from the external environment, preventing rust and corrosion, significantly extending the service life of the welded wire mesh. Its advantages are particularly evident when used outdoors, in humid environments, and in harsh environments.
