Ductile Iron Pipe

Ductile iron pipe, also known as nodular cast iron pipe, is a type of pipe made from ductile cast iron. Ductile cast iron is an alloy that is primarily composed of iron (Fe), with a relatively high carbon (C) content (usually around 3 – 4%), along with small amounts of silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), and a key element – magnesium (Mg). The addition of magnesium causes the graphite in the iron to form into spherical nodules rather than the flake – like structure found in gray cast iron. This nodular graphite structure gives ductile iron its unique mechanical properties.

Our Ductile Iron Pipe are the benchmark for modern water and sewage infrastructure worldwide. Manufactured to stringent international standards like ISO 2531 and EN 545, these pipes offer a superior combination of high tensile strength (from the ductile iron) and exceptional internal/external corrosion resistance. They are specifically designed for efficient, long-life fluid conveyance.

Key Features & Advantages:
High Pressure Tolerance (K9 Class): Our standard K9 pressure class pipes are built to withstand high internal pressure surges and external ground loads, ensuring a reliable, burst-resistant water network.
Superior Corrosion Protection: The combination of a robust zinc-bitumen external coating and internal cement mortar lining guarantees a lifespan of over 50 years.
Easy & Fast Installation (T-Type Joint): The standard T-Type push-in joint system allows for quick field assembly using rubber gaskets, saving significant labor time on municipal projects.
Safety for Potable Water: Our internal linings meet international health standards (WRAS/NSF), ensuring the safe transmission of drinking water without contamination.

Primary Applications:
Municipal Water Supply Mains.
Sewage Force Mains (EN 598 specification).
Fire Protection Systems (FM Approved systems).
Irrigation and Industrial Water Transport.
